(+)In the heart of a pine forest, within a dehesa in Cádiz, this glamping project promoted by WeCamp takes shape: a form of luxury camping that elevates the traditional experience through interior design, comfort and a more conscious relationship with the natural environment. Surrounded by vegetation and featuring a low density of tents, the group of accommodations blends naturally into a privileged landscape, where time seems to flow at a different pace.
Trenchs Studio, a Barcelona-based interior design studio, takes part in the project as concept guardian, supporting WeCamp in the definition and consolidation of the spatial identity of the glamping site in Andalusia, alongside Tematic Arquitectura and landscape designer Valentina Greselin. The design work spans both outdoor and indoor spaces, including the common areas —reception, restaurant and pool area— as well as the different glamping tent typologies. The studio oversees all design-related decisions transversally, including the specification of outdoor furniture, with the aim of ensuring a coherent experience aligned with the site.
The common areas are conceived as open, design-led spaces where architecture and interior design dissolve into the landscape. Lightweight structures, natural materials and a colour palette inspired by the surroundings —light woods, earthy tones and soft greens— create relaxed and welcoming atmospheres, designed for sharing, resting and observing. Outdoor spaces are conceived as an extension of the interiors, becoming more permeable through the use of elements such as wooden pergolas that filter natural light. The pool area is designed as a sequence of connected basins linked by a large platform that also incorporates sun-lounger areas.
The reception and restaurant, together with the outdoor terraces, unfold among the pine trees, filtering light and generating shadows that evolve throughout the day. Wooden slatted elements, used both on building façades and pergolas, add richness and texture to the volumes, while the interplay of light and shadow helps integrate them into the natural landscape. Dark colours in green and taupe tones create contrast with both natural and artificial light and blend with the hues already present in the environment.
Within the glamping tents, the interior design achieves a balance between comfort and simplicity through a functional and welcoming layout, where integrated solutions reinforce a sense of shelter. Large openings and lightweight enclosures allow the landscape to remain a constant part of the accommodation experience, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors. Chromatic continuity with the common areas helps integrate the units into their surroundings, while a composition of birch wood planes —incorporating the brand colour in the manner of a large Mondrian— adds identity and character to the interior space.
The project thus reflects WeCamp’s philosophy: a new way of understanding luxury camping, more considered and focused on the quality of the experience. Trenchs Studio’s involvement has ensured overall coherence, allowing architecture, interior design and landscape design to engage in a natural dialogue, resulting in a sustainable design project that does not impose itself on the site, but rather adapts to it and encourages reconnection with the environment through a serene and contemporary lens.
