(+)Trenchs Studio creates a serene retreat inspired by Le Corbusier for JUNG at Interihotel 2025
Amid the bustle of Interihotel 2025 in Barcelona, Trenchs Studio conceives a trade-fair stand for JUNG that acts as a pause: a white, serene retreat that invites visitors to slow down. Bathed in soft, carefully controlled light, the stand design recreates the atmosphere of a contemporary hotel room, where calm and spatial clarity take center stage.
The ephemeral architecture—pure, continuous, and almost monolithic—rises on a slightly elevated platform, creating the sensation of entering an intimate interior within the fair context. A large curved plane forming the roof defines the identity of the exhibition space from afar, introducing a sculptural gesture that softens the geometry of the whole. Lightweight curtains, neutral volumes, and textured surfaces build a delicate and quiet narrative in this stand design project.
Le Corbusier’s Church of Ronchamp has been the key architectural reference for shaping the stand’s architecture. Its organic volumes, thick white walls with soft curves, colored light inlets, and, above all, its iconic roof inspire a contemporary interpretation that seeks the same ethereal character inherent to modernity.
Against this neutral backdrop, JUNG’s mechanisms stand out as precise accents. Integrated throughout the space, they become small touches of color that dialogue with the lighting and materiality. Far from being anecdotal, their presence structures the reading of the space and demonstrates how a technical element can acquire aesthetic and sensory value in interior design.
The project also draws on Le Corbusier’s chromatic palette, applied both to the colors of the mechanisms and to the composition of the stand’s large exhibition wall: a constellation of shapes and tones that resolves the more hidden façade and recalls the relationship between architecture, color, and perception. Located on the exterior of the main volume, this wall functions as a visual manifesto that connects the vibrancy of color with the industrial precision of the product.
In this way, Trenchs Studio, a Barcelona-based interior design studio, creates an exhibition space that speaks of serenity, rigor, and sensitivity. In contrast to the usual visual noise of a design fair, the stand demonstrates that restraint and order can also become a powerful gesture of communication in the design of commercial spaces.
